Lecturers and students of the School Of Education and Humanities (SOEH) at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Kukum campus have expressed concern following a decision to relocate the SOEH office to Panatina Campus.
The move said to have been ordered by the School Of Education and Humanities new Dean, Dr. Joan Nesbitt has not gone well with staff and students.
“We use the office here because our classes are here. We use the office to prepare our lessons. After classes, we normally would use the office as a place to return to,” one lecturer said.
Speaking on anonymity, he said lecturers of the school are now displaced.
“We do not have a place to go to while waiting for our lessons.”
One student said the difficulty the move has on students is convenience.
“Now we have to spend money to go and hand in our complete assignments at Panatina Campus. It would be good if there’s a place where we can submit our assignments rather than going all the way up to Panatina.”
