Suva (Fiji Times) – Champions Rewa has not only won the 2015 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants but the side has also booked a spot in the 2015 Pacific Cup which will be played in New Zealand this year.
Rewa gained the maximum points after four tournaments.
Delta Tigers has 12 points after the side gained four points from Vodafone Fiji FACT, three from the Rewa Galaxy Premier League and five points from the Battle of the Giants.
Accompanying Rewa will be neighbours Suva and Nadi who finished the season with 11 points followed by fourth-placed Ba with eight points.
Rewa president Nazeel Buksh said it was an opportunity for the players to enjoy an overseas trip after a tough season.
“It is a good exposure for the players playing overseas after completing the season at home,” he said.
“The atmosphere and the environment are always different and it is a huge achievement for us. Playing in such tournament always has a high impact on the players when they play at home. The team bonding is also strong.”
Suva president Mahend Prasad said they would field a strong team in the tournament.
“It is a good sign that we will be part of the tournament and we need to prepare well for the it.
“We will give our 100 per cent for this tournament as we have never won,” Prasad said.
Meanwhile, Labasa finished with five points in the past season.
