Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have recaptured one of the three prison inmates who escaped from the Correctional Services Solomon Island (CSSI) prison at Rove on 15 December 2019.
Prison escapee Willie Olo was recaptured in the LDA area at Betikama in East Honiara between 4 and 5 am this morning.
Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime and Intelligence Patricia Leta says, “Police arrested Willie Olo in the LDA area at Betikama East of Honiara between 4 and 5 am this morning (6 January 2020).”
“The successful recapture of the prison escapee was done following assistance from members of the community who provided information to police. We are very grateful for the assistance, which has led to the recapture of the prison escapee. Police greatly appreciates your time and effort.”
“RSIPF appeals to members of the communities in and around Honiara to help your police. We need information on the location of the two remaining prison escapees. With your help, we should be able to recapture the two making our communities safe and secure. The two prison escapees still at large are a danger to our communities and business houses,” says AC Leta.
The two prison escapees still at large are Frank Firimolea and Dilo Faiga.
