“The four people, all adult men, were arrested and charged for intimidation and molestation, wilful and unlawful damage to properties, assault causing actual bodily harm and criminal trespass. The men have been released on bail to appear before the Eastern Magistrates Court at Kikira in Makira-Ulawa Province on 6 and 20 August 2019,” said PPC Sitai.
He adds: “To my hard working officers, thank you for your dedication to detect crime and apprehend offenders to face justice. This can only increase the confidence that the community has in its police to enforce the rule of law in our communities.
“We are continuing to investigate crimes that have been reported to us. I appeal to the good people of Makira-Ulawa Province to assist my officers with information as they go about in the communities to gather evidence about crime. At the same time police is continuing with the roll out of the Crime Prevention Strategy – awareness about how to prevent crime, “PPC Sitai emphasised.
