MALAITA Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Leslie Kili witnessed the launching of a by-law for Hatodea communities at Manaoba island in the Lau lagoon on 8 June 2022.
Speaking during the launching ceremony PPC Kili says, “I on behalf of RSIPF happy to witness the launching of your community by-law since it is a milestone in Manaoba Island as first of its engagement with the RSIPF in maintaining partnership with the Police in curbing crimes occurring in the village and surrounding communities.”
PPC Kili says, “It is a good initiative that Hatodea communities also have decided to establish and launch a by-law for the good and betterment of their communities and the future generation. This is one of the activities that RSIPF has been working hard behind the scene with its Crime Prevention Strategy.”
Superintendent Kili says, “This is a way we could go through in addressing social issues in our communities. I am happy that chiefs, elders, Church leaders and women involved in the Crime Prevention Committee (CPC) have worked together to build a good community through this by-law.”
Kili adds, “Working together will make our community a safer place for our children. It could be tough at times but we need to respect one another. Our children will learn from us and maintain from where we left them so we can live in a crime free society.”
