Repair work to the long-troubled Ruavatu bailey bridge in East Central Guadalcanal had undergone repair works and will be completed soon to address longstanding complaints following its deteriorating condition.
RLC Construction General Manager Charles Kokoe confirmed to the Solomon Star that maintenance work had been undertaken and is expected to be completed by this weekend.
The project is poised for an official handover thereafter.
“The maintenance of the bridge is progressing well, and we anticipate completion this weekend,” the manager stated.
He commended the dedication of RLC Construction employees, highlighting their commitment to the project.
“The work has been executed efficiently; our team is hardworking and possesses valuable experience in construction projects,” he stated.

Mr Kokoe emphasized the project’s importance saying; “We are addressing public concerns regarding the poor state of bridges in Central East Guadalcanal. This work will significantly improve transportation services for all road users who have suffered from these conditions for years.”
Kokoe also expressed gratitude to the Guadalcanal Provincial Tender Board for awarding RLC Construction for the maintenance contract for the bridge.
“I thank the Guadalcanal Tender Board for entrusting this important project to RLC Construction,” he said.
RLC Construction is a locally registered company specializing in bridge building and housing schemes.
