THE Sagalu ward house of chiefs in North West Guadalcanal has elected their new paramount chief this week to look after the communities.
He was Raymond Kapini who replaces Anthony Limanisara who finished his term.
Newly elected chief Kapini said that he is happy with the result and hope to carry on from where the outgoing chief has left.
“Thank you everyone for your trust that you have voted me to lead and look after our communities,” Mr Kapini said.
“As I have told you, that this task is not an easy one but with your help, I believe we can make it.”
Toki said that everyone were really happy with the election of the chief.
Mr Kapini said that he wanted the outgoing paramount chief and everyone to work together with him.
“I appeal to you church leaders, elders and community chiefs, tribal chiefs and other leaders in the community to join hands together with to look after our communities,” he added.
Toki said that paramount chief was very important in northwest Guadalcanal to look after the house of chiefs to maintain peace and order at the community level.
They will work together with police and other authorities to make sure the areas of concern are free for everyone to enjoy their living there.
