GCU: Schools in the country will remain close while responsible authorities are discussing the best and safest ways to reopen schools this academic year.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare announced this ongoing closure in his address to the nation.
The Ministry of Education’s NDOC team is in discussions with Health to finalize a paper on the opening of schools this year.
The paper will present guidelines and conditions that would need to be met for schools to reopen.
Once concluded the paper and its recommendations will be presented to the Oversight Committee for further deliberation and ultimately to Cabinet for a decision.
Meanwhile all schools will remain closed until a determination is made on the reopening of schools.
