THE immediate former Member of Parliament for South Guadalcanal Rollen Seleso has been nominated to re-contest the South Guadalcanal Constituency seat in the April 17 Joint Election.
“We are pleased to announce the nomination of Mr Rollen Seleso as our candidate for South Guadalcanal in the upcoming National General Elections in April. As nominators,” his three nominators declared in a joint statement yesterday.
The trio spoke of the overwhelming dedication they witnessed Mr Seleso give to the welfare of the people and development of the South Guadalcanal Constituency.
“His leadership has brought about positive changes and development and we believe that he is the right person to continue leading our constituency for another term.
“As a women’s representative, I am excited about the opportunity to support Mr Seleso’s candidacy. He has shown a strong commitment to engaging with our community and has implemented important programs that benefit our women.
“I encourage all women in the constituency to actively participate in these programs and work together with our male counterparts to drive the aspirations and wishes of our people,” Mariah Bola said after the nomination of Mr Seleso on Monday.
Chief Amos Henry of Duidui Ward and representative of traditional leaders, who was also one of the nominators, testified that as a traditional and community leader, he has seen first-hand the impact of Mr Seleso’s leadership on almost every village, including his own.
“He has worked tirelessly to promote unity and has prioritized important projects that have benefited our people. I am proud to nominate him as our candidate and believe that he will continue to put the welfare of our people first,” Chief Henry said.
The third nominator and representative of the youth and young families of South Guadalcanal, Steven Gapu said he can attest to the positive impact of Mr Seleso’s leadership.
“Mr Seleso has shown genuine care for all members of our community, including the marginalized and disadvantaged. His inclusive approach and willingness to listen to the views and ideas of the youth have made significant differences in our constituency. I am honored to nominate him and believe that he will continue to make South Guadalcanal a better region for all,” the young leader shared.
The nominators also shared, “We are confident that Mr Seleso’s leadership will continue to bring positive change and progress to our constituency, and we urge the people of South Guadalcanal to support his candidacy in the upcoming elections.”
In his response, Mr Seleso expressed his gratitude for the nomination and the trust placed in him by representatives of the three wards in his constituency.
He acknowledged the collective effort of the community in achieving the accomplishments of his first term and highlighted that he is eager to continue working with the people of South
Guadalcanal to complete ongoing development plans and programs.
