Solomon Islands duo John Orobulu and James Do’oro have helped Fiji’s Rewa FC secure the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025 title, a trophy the club last lifted 15 years ago.
The win marks the pair’s second silverware with Rewa this season, as both players played instrumental roles throughout the tournament.
Orobulu continued his remarkable scoring form by claiming yet another Golden Boot award and his third this season alone, while Do’oro was crowned Golden Glove winner for his outstanding performances between the posts throughout the week-long competition.
Speaking to Star Sports, Do’oro expressed pride in his achievement and gratitude for the team’s unity and hard work.
“Firstly, I want to thank God for His strength and protection in helping us win the IDC title. I also thank the rest of the Rewa FC team for our togetherness both on and off the field. Overall, I’m just happy to help make history with the team,” he said.
Fellow countryman Orobulu was also delighted after netting seven goals in the competition to claim the top scorer award.
“I’m so happy to win this Golden Boot award. It was only possible because of my teammates and they helped me achieve this, so I dedicate the award back to them,” said Orobulu.
The duo also took the opportunity to thank their families, friends, and supporters both in the Solomon Islands and Fiji for their continued support throughout the season.
Rewa’s IDC triumph comes just a month after the Babasiga Lions claimed the Extra Premier League 2025 title and booked their spot in next year’s OFC Champions League.
