Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) had welcomed the announcement made bythe Microfinance Pasifika that the next Microfinance Week will be held in Honiara, in the second part of 2015.
The Pacific Microfinance Week is an initiative of the Microfinance Pasifika Network and comprises of a series of events including workshops, field visits, seminars, and a formal conference, providing the region’s most comprehensive platform for Pacific financial sector stakeholders to share knowledge, network and engage in technical exchanges to further the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of financial services within the unique constraints of the region.
CBSI in a statement said, the bank and its National Financial Inclusion Taskforce partners look forward to this event, not only to welcome the many delegates from the region who will participate in the week long program but the event will enable many of our groups in Solomon Islands involved in microfinance activities, including savings clubs, credit unions, women in business and others involved in SME finance, to learn from others in the region and at the same time share our experiences and challenges to them as well.
The last Pacific Microfinance Week was held in Nadi, in 2013.
