The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive economic growth through provincial engagement by paying a courtesy visit to the Premier of Malaita Province, Hon. Elijah Asilaua.
The meeting focused on how SICCI and the Malaita Provincial Government can work together to unlock the province’s economic potential, particularly in strengthening the local business environment and attracting investment.
SICCI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James Dolarii on Thursday led a delegation to Auki as part of the Chamber’s ongoing 2025 Provincial Outreach Program, which aims to strengthen collaboration with provincial governments and support the development of the private sector across the country.
Premier Asilaua, joined by the Malaita Provincial Secretary and Deputy Provincial Secretary, welcomed the SICCI team and expressed appreciation for the visit and dialogue.

“I’m grateful for this discussion as it paves a way going forward to develop Malaita Province.
“Malaita has development aspirations that require the support of donor partners and stakeholders like SICCI,” he said.
Mr. Dolarii echoed the Premier’s sentiments and thanked the Malaita Provincial Government for making time to engage in strategic discussions.
“Malaita is one of the largest islands in the Solomon Islands, and it holds significant potential to drive the national economy.
“We look forward to supporting Malaita in its development goals, particularly in areas like the Bina Harbour Development and other promising initiatives,” he said.
Team SICCI also took time to visit few members on Thursday.
The team delivered a workshop and networking event on Friday.
SICCI’s Provincial Outreach Program continues to serve as a platform to connect the business community with local authorities and foster meaningful partnerships that promote sustainable economic development across the Solomon Islands.
