Admitted sick patients at Kilu’ufi Hospital, Malaita Province have commended the Prime Minster and his delegation for visiting the hospital last week.
Mr Sogovare was in Auki for the launching of the provincial government’s policy document and took time after the even to visit the hospital.
During the visit he was accompanied by the Minister for Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening Duddley Kopu, Minister for Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs Jimson Tanangada, Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Tautai Kaitu’u, Minister for Infrastructure Development Stanley Sofu, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Augustine Auga, Chairman of Government Caucus Jackson Fiulaua and the Member of Parliament for North Malaita, Hon Jimmy Lusibaea.
Speaking on behalf of all the patients that were admitted at the hospital Rex Talo said, the visit by the high level delegation to every ward at the hospital was an important visit to many of the sick patients who were admitted and lying down at the kilu’ufi Hospital last week.
During the visit the patients were given token of cash to assist them.
“We express our gratitude to the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogovare and his delegation in giving some money to each sick patient who are being admitted at the Kilu’ufi Hospital.
“This is a Prime Minister who has a heart for sick patients.
“The money will support our stay here and to meet our fares when returning to our villages.”
Mr Talo and his wife are from North Malaita and were admitted at hospital during the visit.
The visit also allowed the delegation to personally see the condition of the hospital and to hear from hospitals the challenges faced by the hospital.
Last year the NCRA government also assisted the hospital with funds.
