Intending Candidates are reminded that the payment of Nomination Fees ($5000) will be made at the constituency level with returning officers.
Therefore, it is safe to use or pay in cash and not cheque, the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission has stated.
SIEC added that if an intending candidate pay up using a cheque and it happen that the cheque bounces, it will be seen as the intending candidate not paying up the fee.
This can result in disqualification if the nomination period already closes.
Therefore, all intending candidates must take heed.
