China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC), Huawei, Solomon Tower Limited(STL), and the Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA) have successfully completed the construction, commissioning, and on-air activation of two tel-communication sites in Malaita Province under Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project (SINBIP).
The newly commissioned sites include Alikata and Matakwathaa’lu(M162), marking an important milestone in the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in the province.
Notably, the two SINBIP communication sites successfully brought on air in Malaita Province, represent a significant step forward in extending network coverage and improve connectivity for local communities.
The works at both sites covered site investigation, civil works, tower erection, equipment installation, testing, and final commissioning, all carried out in close coordination with China Harbour, Huawei, and relevant stakeholders.
These achievements further demonstrate SINBIP team’s commitment to supporting the development of reliable and sustainable broadband infrastructure across the Solomon Islands.
