Members of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) will learn their 2025 crediting rate this week.
The SINPF Board is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, to declare the rate, Fund General Manager Mike Wate confirmed on Friday.
In 2024, the Board awarded members a 4% crediting rate for the financial year ending 30 June 2024.
Former Finance Minister Manasseh Sogavare said the return was positive, noting it compared well against the 3.6% inflation rate.
A total of $128.7 million was credited to members’ accounts from 30 September 2024.
The Board also increased the special death benefit (SDB) from $8,000 in 2023 to $8,500 in 2024.
Sogavare acknowledged the Fund’s resilience despite economic shocks over the past five years, including COVID-19, the November 2021 riots, and the global impacts of the Ukraine war.
He said the hosting of the Pacific Games in November 2023 helped bring the economy back to positive growth.
While some equity investments softened due to market volatility, the former minister stressed that the fundamentals of SINPF’s assets remain strong.
