THE 2018 Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) futsal league will host its final matches this week.
It would kick off today.
Gantimak will take on Real Kakamora at 2pm followed by Solympics and Vania at 3pm and Indo Solo will meet Kooline for the day’s final action at 4pm.
All eyes will be focused on the country’s national U17 men’s futsal team, Solympics if they can achieve their aim to finish the first ever national futsal league in second place.
Solympics aim to finish second after Marist was confirmed winners of the 2018 Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) futsal league title.
The U17 coach, Stanley Puiarana said they aim to finish high therefore will not give away any matches despite going against the Vania the bottom team of the competition.
Solympics currently has 24 points and a win will give them 27 points.
“We aim to finish second and we are prepared to give in everything to achieve that.
“We want to end our campaign at the highest possible position we can reach,” he said.
Finishing second in the league will be a boost to the U17’s preparation for the Youth World Cup.
These week’s matches are anticipated to be tough as teams aim for a win in their final matches.
