Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) volunteers, staffs, nurses from Guadalcanal provinces, Christian care centre and national referral hospital are under-going training in preparation towards disaster crisis.
The training was facilitated by SIPPA to equip workers to get ready for any disaster that may strike in the future.
This training was a review following three other trainings that have beeen already conducted previously from ministry of health.
SIPPA program officer Ben Ango said the training was to help build the capacity of volunteers, NGOs and ministries to respond actively during disaster.
“During disaster they will responsible for mental care, medical care, physical assessment and common genital injuries”.
Mr Ango added they also train on human counselling skills about how to approach victims to counsel them.
He said now they are well equipped and can able to respond for any crisis.
He added SIPPA is an organisation that is not looking only for things happenings today but also prepares for future crisis.
