A YOUTH team from the Solomon Islands Tennis Federation (SITF) are set to compete in the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship 2025 in Latoka, Fiji, in April.
SITF confirmed yesterday that the SITF youth team consisting of 9 athletes have been qualified for the POJC 2025 championship, which will be held from April 2 to 12.
The team consists of 3 U16 athletes Pio Ruhasia, John Junior Kennedy and Jen Tahunipue.
The U12 Girls’ Team consists of 3 athletes namely, Porsche Peterson, Jane Talise and Rachael Tamu, whilst the U12 Boys’ Team comprises another 3 athletes and they are Coen Barley, Harry Clay and Elwin Junior Kukiti.
SITF confirmed that John Jnr Kennedy of the U16 Boys’ Category and Jen Tahunipue of the U16 Girls’ Category and the U12 Girls’ Team are all qualified for the POJC, whilst the U12 Boys’ Team and Pio Ruhasia of the U16 Boys’ Category have got Wildcards to compete in the championship.
The team members are undergoing intensive training for the Oceania regional competition.
