SOLOMON Islands Women In Business Association (SIWIBA) is celebrating its 10th anniversary today at the national Art Gallery.
The event is to commemorate the hardship and achievements of members in their efforts to fulfil the aims and objectives of SIWIBA.
A street parade will kick off the program from the Central Market to the Art Gallery where a number of activities including showcasing of local products from women’s skills will take place.
It is a three-day event.
According to SIWIBA, during the ceremony, the group will launch its website as part of the celebration.
SIWIBA coordinator Nina Tuhaika, the website will connect SIWIBA and its members to the world.
Creation of the website was supported by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Department of Australia Foreign Affairs and External Trade (DFAT).
Members of the public are invited to attend the celebration, and learn more about the work of SIWIBA and its members during the events.
Meanwhile, the women’s group said it has a number of trainings tentatively lined up for this year for its members.
Also SIWIBA aims to fulfil its dream this year by planning to launch its business resource centre but the date is still to be confirmed.
The centre will give space to SIWIBA members to conduct business trainings, mentoring, coaching and counselling.
