Both the Skyriders Floorball Club men’s and women’s teams were crowned champions of the Floorball 3×3 competition hosted by the SINU Panthers Floorball Club, which concluded on Monday at the Pavilion Hall, SINU Panatina Campus.
The two-day tournament, which kicked off on Sunday, saw both Skyriders teams top their respective categories before facing off against their second placed contenders in Monday’s grand finals.
In the men’s division, the Skyriders, fresh from their June 3×3 tournament victory hosted by the Floorball Federation of Solomon Islands (FFSI), once again proved their dominance, defeating the SINU Panthers 3-1 in the title decider.
The women’s final saw Skyriders claim the top prize with an impressive 5-2 win over the SINU Knights, securing their first-ever 3×3 title.
Speaking to Star Sports after the matches, Skyriders player-coach Nyrick Zuna expressed pride in both teams’ performances.
“First of all, big thanks to God for giving us this victory. I am so happy with how both teams worked together to achieve our goals.
“Our men’s team are now back-to-back champions, and this is the first title for our women’s team in the 3×3 format, so I’m very proud,” Zuna said.
Zuna also commended the event organizers for helping promote the sport.

“On behalf of our team, I want to thank the SINU Panthers Floorball Club for hosting this competition. We look forward to any more tournaments they might host in the future.
“This kind of small competition is very helpful for the sport’s growth in the country, especially since it is still new. From the turnout and level of play over the past two days, I can say it has been a great success.”
Looking ahead, Zuna said the team’s focus now shifts to the upcoming Floorball 5×5 league.
“Now we will rest, refocus, and prepare for the 5×5 league next month. This win will really boost our preparations,” he added.
