The Government of Solomon Islands warmly welcomes the launch of the Papua New Guinea–Solomon Islands Business Council, marking a significant milestone in the continued strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations.
Speaking at the Council’s soft launch at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on Thursday night, the Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele, MP, extended his sincere congratulations to the architects behind this important initiative.
He acknowledged the Business Council as a timely and strategic platform for fostering deeper engagement between the private sectors of both countries.
“The establishment of this Council represents a new chapter in our economic partnership. I am confident that it will grow from strength to strength and evolve into a vital mechanism for advancing mutual prosperity.”
The Prime Minister further highlighted that the Business Council will serve as an essential forum for dialogue, networking, and collaboration, facilitating practical opportunities for trade, investment, and innovation.
During the event, Prime Minister Manele engaged with business leaders, listening to their aspirations and exploring areas of interest for partnership with Solomon Islands. He reaffirmed his Government’s strong commitment to initiatives that deepen economic cooperation with Papua New Guinea.
