WESTERN Tomoko senior football team has been boosted with the donation of ten bags of rice thanks to SolRais Company Limited.
The donation was handed over to the team this week at the company’s Ranadi head office in East Honiara.
The donation was received with great appreciation from Loyley Ngira, Team Manager Lapi Hite, and Assistant Team Manager Vaulton Peter.
Having accepted the request for assistance, Solrais General Manager James Bradford said Solrais is happy to assist the Western Tomoko team as the company has always been a strong supporter of sports in the country.
He said Western Province has always been a great partner in business and this is a gesture of giving back to the people through their loved team.
Assistant Manager for Western Tomoko Peter expressed his gratitude on behalf of the management and team for the donation that will be used by players throughout their stay in Honiara.
“We have continued to receive donations and assistance from many people, but that does not downplay any other’s heartfelt help given to the team and with this, we are truly grateful for the bags of rice offered to us.
“Food has always been a great need when sportsmen and women are involved as they exert a lot of energy and require a lot more returned to them through food.
“With this, Solrais has essentially ensured that our players representing their home province are nourished and energized for their matches each day,” he said.
The first eleven (11) Western Tomoko squad is currently in Honiara and is expected to face off in its first match against the Malaita.
Team management thanked all who have contributed one way or another to the team’s participation in the 2020 Solomon Cup.
They still welcome any donations or assistance that will continue to support the team during their participation in the tournament.
