Dear Editor – If Solomon Islands to be applauded for: It’s the taste of Soltuna tuna products on the shelves of Fijian street and departmental shops.
Despite the prices of its product lines are bit higher than locally manufactured ones (courtesy of MSG tariffs and quotas), our canned tuna remains – the first choice and delicacy among the ever increasing local faithful.
Interesting, as a counter-strategy in such a highly local competitive market segment, relentless attempts been made to replicate Soltuna’s product designs, but yet again, the taste makes the difference.
A thumbs up to Soltuna! You’re our true flag carrier just like Fiji Water but at a more expanse stage. Nevertheless, we’ll get there slowly, slowly.
The recent celebration in Noro of the World Tuna Day, flanked by the Minister of Fisheries, fittingly resonates this success story.
Good on you, Soltuna!
