More 400 Solomon Islands national university (SINU) government sponsored teacher trainees at Panatina campus this week received their allowances.
The students’ boss Wilson Mae revealed this in an interview yesterday at national training unit (NTU).
Mr Wilson Mae said that this is another load of students to receive allowances before their teaching experience practices next week.
He said that the first load has received their allowances few months ago and now should be at their allocated schools ready for teaching practical next week.
The students have received $9000 as their allowances this year, Mr. Mae added.
He explained that this total amount caters for their TE allowances, books and traveling and accommodation for the next six weeks before returning late September this year.
However, some of the trainee teachers will receive theirs lately next week.
A statement from NTU office, they will try their best to fix up the remaining allowances soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the students’ boss calls on the remaining students to be patient with him as he is working hard to sort out the issue with NTU and the finance ministry.
