All sports clubs across Choiseul province have been urged to ensure they are properly registered and affiliated through the appropriate channels.
The Sports Recreation and Development Officer (SRDO) for Choiseul Province, Mr Brian Koveke issued this formal call which is aimed at strengthening coordination, accountability and sports development at both ward and constituency levels.
All sports clubs within all three constituencies in Choiseul province have been encouraged to comply.
Koveke explained that sports clubs operating in the province with established ward or constituency sports councils must ensure their registration and affiliation are processed through those councils, in accordance with the affiliation fees set by their respective sports associations.
“For areas where sports councils are not yet established, clubs are advised to register directly with their respective sports associations and pay the required affiliation fees,” he said.
He emphasized that proper registration will enable the Choiseul province sports division and the sports development office to effectively engage with verified and active clubs, coordinate sporting activities, and deliver capacity-building and development programs across the province.
He further stated that his office, in collaboration with the provincial sports division, will closely monitor and verify updated lists of affiliated clubs and active sports associations to ensure all provincial sports programs are aligned with National Federations.
“This process is important to ensure fairness, transparency, and effective delivery of sports programs throughout Choiseul Province,” he added.
Sports clubs are encouraged to comply with the directive to avoid missing out on future sporting activities, training opportunities, and development support.
