The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) Board has reaffirmed its strong partnership with the Government following a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Hon. Jeremiah Manele on Friday afternoon.
Led by its Chairlady, Namoi Kaluae, the SICCI Board updated Prime Minister Manele, its strategic priorities for 2026 and strengthened bonds between Government and the private sector.
The SICCI board conveyed its profound gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Government for their sustained and ongoing support.
The Board also took the opportunity to introduce its new members and provide an overview of its immediate strategic priorities.
Key priorities outlined include a Directorship Training Programme scheduled for early next month, the inaugural PNG–Solomon Islands Business Forum, to be hosted by SICCI at the end of April. The Forum is expected to feature bilateral dialogue between Prime Minister Manele and James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, as well as the Prime Ministers’ Golf Challenge, the Annual Prime Minister’s Breakfast; and the 2026 Business Excellence Awards.
Prime Minister Manele reaffirmed the Government’s continued support for SICCI’s role as the leading voice of the private sector in Solomon Islands.
He reassured SICCI of the government’s ongoing collaborative efforts to create a conducive environment for private enterprise growth and economic development.
Discussions also addressed the urgency of progressing the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Bill, which Prime Minister Manele emphasized as critical to strengthening the enabling environment for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
The SICCI board expressed appreciation to the government for the ongoing Honiara Road Improvement project, acknowledging its importance to economic activity and business confidence.
