MALAITA Provincial Premier, Daniel Suidani has encouraged people to work together with governments to trigger and achieve development.
Speaking during the official handing over of the Manawai Harbour Market building recently, Premier Suidani encouraged the people to work together with governments whether it be national or provincial.
The Premier is of the view that without people there will be no governments where he said working together with the government on areas of development is necessary to achieve development.
The Premier highlighted that working together with the government has resulted in the successful completion of the Manawai Harbour Market building.
“The fulfillment of this project I believe is a product of working together.”
“Working together between people and the government is important, without that close collaboration we would not be here today.”
“This is why I would like to encourage you to continue to work with the governments.”
“It is because of you that we have a government and without you there will be no government.”
Therefore, it is only right that you work closely with the government to bring development like this to your place, he added.
“We should not treat the government like some kind of alien or an outsider.”
“In fact, if you look at it more closely, you are the government because you the people are the ones who put governments.”
“Therefore, I encourage you to continue working with the government.”
With that, the Premier said his MARA government will continue to work closely with the national government to ensure that funding that comes through the PCDF funding is appropriately used and implemented fairly to communities in Malaita Province.
