SUPPORTERS of former Malaita Province Premier Daniel Suidani have welcomed the High Court ruling in favor of Suidani in Honiara on Thursday.
High Court Justice Maelyn Bird on Thursday, declared that the removal of Suidani in 20 March, 2023 based on the letter of former Minister of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, Rollen Seleso and former Malaita province Speaker, Ronnie Butala, was “unlawful”.
Felix Bosokuru, former Malaita Provincial Assembly member for Ward 29 and was part of Suidani’s government executive, congratulated him for the victory.
He described the court victory as setting a precedent for future cases.
He recalled how the last national government had manipulated the law to bring down the Malaita Alliance for Rural Advancement (MARA) leadership.
He highlighted that this court decision highlighted the flaws in the current leadership.
“This victory showcases the corrupt leadership in our nation, the Solomon Islands.
“One right among millions of wrongs will always shine through and eventually correct all the wrongs that have plagued our nation for so long,” Bosokuru said.
