A suspect has been arrested for swearing at police officers during a foot beat patrol at Gilbert Camp, Borderline, and the Kobito area, East Honiara on Wednesday 6 August 2025.
Naha police have successfully conducted a high-visibility foot beat in areas such as Gilbert Camp, the 10-dollar Market, and the surrounding vicinity, showing proactive community policing in our communities.
The primary aim of the foot beat initiative is to foster direct interaction between the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the community.
This engagement is essential for building trust and cooperation in addressing local issues, particularly anti-social behaviors in our communities.
Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Naha Police Station, Superintendent Leslie Kili, said increasing police presence in the communities is to deter crime and provide reassuring police presence within the communities.
Superintendent Kili said such visibility can often prevent potential incidents before any occurrence of crime. These highlight the effectiveness of the initiative in identifying and addressing such misconduct in real time.
He said the high visibility duties strategy is a significant step towards strengthening community relations, enhancing public safety,such initiatives, which can further strengthen the RSIPF’s role in combating anti-social behaviors and building a safer community.
Naha police appeal to the public to assist with the investigation into the arrest so that the suspect faces the court for his action.
