The little known community of Susulangi, in West Kwara’ae had its new church building blessed and dedicated on Sunday 5th October 2014.
Fr. Vaioleti Tuione, Priest of Dala Parish, accompanied by a media officer of the Catholic Diocese of Auki, visited the community last week for the inauguration of the Church building there.
Surrounding settlements of Adaiasi, Abufalu and others joined in the celebration of Eucharist, first Holy Communion and baptism which all took place on that day.
The programme began with a procession to the Church led by candidates for first Holy Communion and followed by the congregation.
In front of the church building Fr. Vaioleti proceed to bless St. Francis of Asisi church building.
During the celebration of the Eucharist, 15 young boys and girls received Holy Communion for the first time and a baby was baptized.
It was indeed a blessed and joyful occasion for the communities around Susulangi.
Leaders of the communities there were grateful indeed that their parish priest Fr. Vaioleti was able to attend and the celebrations.
Fr. Vaioleti congratulated and thanked the community for their struggles to build a new church building, which was finally completed and inaugurated.
The occasion ended with a feast.
