MORE than 80 teachers have successfully completed a three-day Early Childhood Education training workshop yesterday in Honiara.
The workshop was aimed at equipping teachers with fair knowledge and skills of preparing a work plan program in schools.
Speaking during the closing of the training, Principal Education inspector for Honiara Obed Zutu said teachers who attended the training should be in a position to prepare proper work plans for their schools.
Mr Zutu said from the training, teachers should effectively implement the knowledge to enhance and shape children’s learning at their respective schools.
“The good thing about establishing work plans is it shapes up children and distract unwanted anti-social behaviours that student will likely involve in such as drugs.”
Angella Davis, an early child hood teacher said knowledge learnt from the training were useful if implemented.
She said teaching at the early childhood level is a challenging task that needs patience, humbleness, willingness and acceptance.
“It is a very challenging and daunting task, but that is the foundation of the education of children.”
