The 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup Queen arrived in Honiara to a heroic welcome on Sunday morning.
The Moses Toata led team touched down at the Honiara International Airport just after 10am to a heroic welcome as supporters, fans, family members came out in huge numbers to welcome them.
A parade is also being organised for the girls who created history after winning the champion in Suva, Fiji on Saturday night.
Its a historic moment for the country as the ladies conquer the OFC Women’s Nations Cup for the very first time!
National carrier Solomon Airlines in a statement said, “Huge congratulations to Coach Toata and the incredible team on your victory over Papua New Guinea.
“We are proud to fly you back home, celebrating how your hard work, belief, and dedication have paid off, inspiring us all along the way!”
Reports said, the team received a roaring welcome at the Honiara International Airport, greeted by a crowd of proud supporters—mostly women and girls.
It was an electrifying atmosphere as the team touched down and the trophy came out of the aircraft.
Solraise Women League in a statement organised a street parade because of the way the ladies made the nation proud.
“They made us all proud, and now it’s our turn to show them how much we appreciate it!
“Our National Women’s Football Team is arriving back in the Solomon Islands today, and we’re planning a special welcome parade just for them.”
Hundreds have packed the airport to show their support and welcomed the champions back.
A parade through the city is also taking place.
