THE MINISTER of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Milner Tozaka has denied any negotiation with Fiji government to resolve the air service agreement between Solomon Airlines and Fiji Airways in January this year.
This came after chairman for Public Accounts Committee, Rick Hou told Parliament that the air-service agreement with Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu has remained unresolved until today.
Tozaka said he signed the agreement with Fiji Attorney General and Minister of Civil Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to allow flights again after more than nine months of no operation.
“I don’t negotiate the agreement with Fiji,” he said.
“I took on board of Ministry of Civil Aviation inorder to sign the agreement to resume flights.
“The agreement is an ongoing one so it will be up to Ministry of Civil Aviation to negotiate it with Fiji government,” he said.
