Government House has confirmed the swearing-in of three ministers at 10am tomorrow – Tuesday 10th February as part of an ongoing Cabinet reshuffle.
The ministers likely to be sworn in are:
- Stephen Kumi, Member of Parliament for Temotu Nende, who replaces John Tuhaika Junior as Minister for Traditional Governance, Peace and Ecclesiastical Affairs;
- Wayne Ghemu, who has been reshuffled to take up the portfolio of Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology is replacing Polycarp Paea;
- Rollen Seleso, Member of Parliament for South Guadalcanal replaces Mr Ghemu as Minister for Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening.
As a result of the changes, Mr Paea and Mr Tuhaika Junior have lost their previous ministerial portfolios.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Kwara’ae, Alfred Tuasulia, is expected to take over from Harry Kuma as Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration.
Sources said, the move is aimed at strengthening the numerical dominance of the OUR Party within the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT).
