TOILET facilities at Honiara International airport especially the female convenience restroom has been criticised as bearing no concern for privacy.
The criticisms which went spiral over social media web described the female restroom as the only one worldwide that did not cater for privacy of the users.
Concerned critics said the female toilets did not even have walls to act as barrier to protect privacy separating them so that someone can use it.
One female critic claimed that females who wish to use the convenience rooms on arrivals find it rather embarrassing as they are very open.
Quite a number of critics have questioned through the social media why the architectures of the building structure have deliberately ignored privacy of women in such amenities.
Many who criticised and disapproved the design of the current toilet facilities at Honiara International Airport said though it may appear as a small problem, the fact it is at the first point of arrival of international visitors speaks volumes of bad image about the country.
They recommended that the responsible authorities should do something about improving the toilet facilities bearing in mind privacy convenience as of significant importance.
The Ministry of Aviation and Solomon Airlines who are responsible for the use of Honiara International Airport terminal could not be reached for comment.
