Two senior officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully completed a five-week International Leadership Programme at the UK College of Policing in the United Kingdom this month.
Chief Superintendent Laisalyn Mua, also Chief of Staff and Chief Superintendent Francis Ramoni, Acting Supervising Assistant Commissioner – National Operations, were among other Pacific Islands Police Forces who attended the programme.
With both officers now back in the country, their attendance was made possible through the UK Integrated Security Fund under the Strengthening the Capacity of Pacific Island Policing project.
The International Leadership Programme offered by the UK College of Policing provides senior police officers a unique development experience focusing on leadership skill development, legitimacy and consent, ethics and human rights. It is designed to help develop international policing leaders of tomorrow.
The strength of the programme lies in sharing learning and evidence of what works, with the opportunity to gain a fresh leadership perspective, new ways of working, and a valuable network of colleagues.
It is delivered by highly experienced and qualified trainers and subject matter experts from UK policing, with international experience.

Key benefits of attending the International Leadership Programme includes:
- The confidence to lead within an increasingly complex operational environment.
- Raised awareness of international policing issues.
- International networking and opportunity to share good practice.
- Learning how to lead change in a dynamic policing environment.
- Tailored visits to UK police forces.
- Access to heritage sites and culture in different parts of the UK.
- Integration into UK policing, using highly trained and experienced international trainers, including serving officers.
- A College of Policing certificate on successful completion of the programme.
With their certificates in hand, both Chief Superintendents Laisalyn Mua and Francis Ramoni have joined a growing list of Senior RSIPF Officers that have benefitted from this UK – RSIPF partnership which focuses on Leadership.
We look forward to the officers sharing their experience and utilising key learnings attained from the training in their duty.
