Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification, Hon. Bradley Tovosia, has voluntarily tendered his resignation from both positions, effective on Monday.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet announced this afternoon, Monday 28th April.
The decision follows a meeting of the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) coalition held on Monday in the Cabinet Room. Coalition partners unanimously resolved that the national interest must come first, and Hon. Tovosia’s resignation was made in accordance with this collective decision.
Hon. Tovosia has expressed his sincere gratitude to his colleagues, supporters, and the people of Solomon Islands for their continued trust and support during his time in Cabinet. He remains the elected Member of Parliament for East Guadalcanal and has pledged his full support to the GNUTand its leadership.
