A training on how to prevent and investigate online fraud crimes was held recently in Honiara.
Criminal investigators of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station undertook the training.
The training has been supported and facilitated by CPLT to boost the capability of investigators to navigate the new trends of online crimes, although we still have yet to have a cyber act.
This is a second specialized training course on enhancing about 20 investigators to boost their criminal investigation capabilities.
CPLT member Superintendent Jin Hao said, this training focused on the prevention and investigation of telecommunications and online fraud crimes.
Superintendent Hao explained the core contents, such as the characteristics of the prevention strategies, investigation skills, and public education of this type of crime.
“Listened attentively and engaged during discussions and training and expressed that this training closely followed the development trend of new types of crimes in the Solomon Islands,” said Superintendent Hao.
Mr. Hao said, “The training design is highly for great practical value, which was very helpful in enhancing the professional ability of front-line police officers to combat such crimes.”
CPLT will continue to uphold professionalism, efficiency, and friendship to help RSIPF enhance its ability to handle criminal investigation cases and maintain local social security and stability.
