A tribal conference was recently conducted at Kara village in Ranoggah island, Western province for Kovala and Riuai tribe.
Solomon Sammy who was part of the conference told Ranoggah Forum via the social media said the event was held on Friday 20th December 2019 based on the theme; ‘Knitted Together to Face Modernization Challenges.’
Chief Mamikolo, Chief Goveni and Chief Mana are the main speakers, Mr Sammy said.
Kara people and few from Lale, Koqu, Paqe and Suava village attended the conference, funded by RANOSI constituency office, chief Mamikolo’s family, Koriovuku Kovala association and community support from Kara chief and people, he said.
A number of issues have been discussed during the conference which relates to the influence of modernisation that is affecting local cultures and tribal norms and activities.
“Thanks to all for making this tribal conference a successful one,” Mr Sammy said.
