FORUM Troika Leaders gathered on Saturday 2 August in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, for their third meeting to reflect on and discuss key regional priorities at the heart of the Blue Pacific.
The meeting served as an important space for Talanoa and building shared understanding, as Leaders reaffirmed their collective commitment to unity for the strength and wellbeing of the Pacific family.
In attendance were the Prime Minister of Tonga and Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum Aisake Eke, Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele and the Minister for State (Foreign Affairs) and Special Envoy to the President of Palau, Gustav Aitaro.
The Troika Leaders also took the opportunity to extend warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Cook Islands on the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Self-Government.
Leaders paid tribute to the journey of the Cook Islands, acknowledging the nation’s contribution to regional progress and its enduring role in shaping the Pacific’s shared future.
As the region prepares for the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Honiara, Solomon Islands, Leaders expressed confidence in regional unity and the strength of Pacific regionalism to meet challenges and achieve a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Blue Pacific Continent.
The Troika reaffirmed that, in the Pacific Way — through dialogue, respect, and shared purpose — we find our greatest strength.
