Dear Editor – Commissioner Varley says, The MOU currently being drafted between the Indonesian National Police and the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (including Royal Solomon Islands Police Force) is focused on cooperation to prevent and combat transnational crimes and building international police capacity.
Such MOUs are standard in international police cooperation and are used between the police forces of many countries to cooperate against transnational crime.
It is also noted that Indonesia is an Associate Member of the Melanesian Spearhead Group and is an existing partner in a number of other policing initiatives across the region.
