ABOUT 32 members of the Women’s Fellowship of the United Church will leave for Australia next month.
United Church Solomon Islands moderator Wilfred Kurepitu said the women will attend the South Pacific Area Seminar in Brisbane Australia.
“The women are now preparing for their journey. They will be travelling to Honiara next week ahead of their departure,” Mr Kurepitu said.
He added that the church’s girl’s brigade group will also travel with the women’s group to attend a separate seminar in Perth.
He said about ten girls from the brigade actively raising funds for the trip.
“The church is supporting these groups one way or another including through prayers for the success of the trips.
Meanwhile two women from the churches’ women’s fellowship group have also returned home after attending the pacific women’s workshop in Fiji two weeks ago.
The workshop is organised by the United Church Australia that looks at women issues like gender equality, violence against women.
The seminar will be held on the first week of July.
