THE University of the South Pacific (USP) Honiara Campus was flooded with a high number of school dropouts, a USP officer confirmed to the Solomon Star.
Since last week the USP campus near Multi-Purpose Hall was flooded daily with students collecting admission forms and making enquiries about the academic entry system of the university, the officer reported.
He said the staff were pressured by the large number students turning up at the front counter begging for admission forms and course schedules offered by the institution.
The officer pointed out that in view of the high number of students drop out in Form six this year, the demand for places at USP centre in Honiara for further studies has been of an enormous scale.
He said as of next week, the University campus will carry out registration and general counselling for new students.
He said nearly 500 students enrolled at the USP Honiara campus last year and this is expected to increase this year.
