Its important to live a healthy lifestyle in order to have a healthy mind and body.
University of the South Pacific (USP) Solomon Islands campus director John Usuramo highlighted this during the launching of the health week at USP campus on Monday.
The health week which will run for two weeks with various health activities focuses on investing in ones health.
Speaking at the occasion Mr Usuramo said over the years the lifestyle of many people has changed and they tend to ignore the importance of having healthy living.
“Many people think they are supermen and women and continue to indulge in many unhealthy ways like alcohol, illicit drugs and unsafe sex,” he said.
Mr Usuramo said it is important to practice healthy ways which is to take whatever goes into your system in moderation.
“Its important to invest in your health.”
He added that health is important for working people so that they can continue earn their living.
He also highlighted the need to walk at the end of each day.
Mr Usuramo also encouraged the students to live healthy life because its important for their growth and the development of their mind.
He also encouraged everyone to eat nutritional foods, exercise regularly and quit from unhealthy practice.
