The Vasakena Community located at Lengakiki Green Tank area, West Honiara on Saturday warmly hosted the St. Stephen Youths from Lunga Parish for a combined fellowship event.
St Stephen Lunga under the Diocese of Guadalcanal is an Anglican Church group.
The gathering, attended by approximately 30 young people along with their Youth Coordinator Peter Takutile, featured a prayer led by the Vasakena Community and a sermon delivered by Pastor Alfred David Ramo.
Mr. Takutile expressed gratitude towards the Vasakena Community for their hospitality and highlighted the potential for future exchanges between the two groups.
He reminisced on the initial prayer visits organized by the Vasakena Fellowship group which took place several years ago.
He emphasised that this important occasion has significantly strengthened ties, paving the way for ongoing outreach and collaboration.
The event concluded with a communal meal and performances by youth groups from both communities.
Additionally, leaders from the Vasakena Community presented various Bible items to each ministry leader of St. Stephen, reinforcing their commitment to spiritual growth.
Leaders from both communities took the opportunity to encourage the youths to engage in prayerful activities, steering clear of unlawful behaviors.
