Volleyball Federation is first to sign MoU with SINIS
THE Solomon Islands Volleyball Federation (SIVF) is the first national sports federation to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) yesterday.
The signing was done at the SINIS Conference room between the SIVF president Morris Tangoeha Hakapauhenua, SINIS Director Aaron Alsop and Team Portfolio Performance Manager, Amanda Korinihona.
Hakapauhenua highlighted that the High performance program is the missing piece of past Team Solomons preparations for the Pacific Games and other regional and international competitions.
“Thank everyone who is involved in making it possible to signing this partnership today.
“It’s been a long process but we finally signed the agreement and I am happy to achieve that for the federation
“We look forward to implementing what is stated in the agreement.
“Our focus is on the Pacific Games but the bottom line is the federation’s preparation for the Games and this agreement is an important part of our preparations.
“We believe with the help of the high performance program it will help prepare a better Team Solomon.,” he said.
The volleyball federation will run their trials for their athletes and identify athletes for scholarship at the Institute of sports.
Director of the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS), Aaron Alsop said the MoU will help to facilitate NFs access to the SINIS facilities, programs and services.
These programs will be launched in the coming weeks.
Other national sports federations are expected to sign their MoU’s in the coming days.
