NEWLY elected Guadalcanal Premier Anthony Veke has announced his new executive.
The announcement of the new line-up was made after consultations which resulted in the allocation of portfolios.
Mr Veke says his new government will focus and implement reforms that will improve effectiveness and the efficiency of administration and service delivery to people of the province.
“My government will create opportunities for education, employments, trade and tourism, socio-cultural and economic development through our foreign trade relations with our traditional friends.”
He said that he believes that his new executive will work on the plans to make a difference from now on.
The new executive line up includes:
Hon. Anthony Veke, premier, Administration and Governance
Hon. Peter Aoraunisaka, deputy Premier, provincial Affairs and commerce
Hon. Joseph Tausuli, minister for economic planning and development
Hon. Patrick Savusi, minister for lands, housing and culture & Tourism
Hon. Lazarus Rima, minister for Education and Human Resources
Hon. Barnabas Nickson, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries
Hon. Amazaiah Robu, minister for Finance
Hon. John Irovia, minister for Environment, Forestry, Mines and energy
Hon. Gordon Tapalia, minister for transport, works and communication
Hon. Patrick Koeolia, minister for women, youth and sports.
And Hon. Brain Tuva, minister for Health and Medical services.
Premier Veke said this is his executive and he believes in them.
The premier added that continuous collaboration with the national government will be vital in advancing important issues.
“My government will establish a framework to work with tribal leaders and chiefs in managing affairs and development of Guadalcanal.
