Islanders Brothers wins Man Up title for the first time
The Man Up Challenge has ended successfully with Islanders Brother winning the title for the first time.
Following the finals played at Town ground rugby stadium yesterday, Islander won this year’s Man Up Challenge title after edging defending champions Henderson Hammerheads (HHH) 15-10.
Winning this year’s Man Up edition is history for Islander Brothers as this is the first time they have won the Man Up Challenge title.
Last year they also reached the grand final against HHH but were unfortunate to make it through.
This is also the first time a team apart from host HHH has won the Man Up Challenge title.
The Club’s Coach Paulo Tikotikoca was the happiest man yesterday, as he recalls how he performed in the competition.
“Today the team showed what we have prepared throughout our training. We won all our games throughout the competition and I’m proud of my boys.
Mr. Tikotikoca also gave credit to HHH for displaying a very difficult game for his boys.
“HHH played well big credit to them. But we were the better team as the result has shown,” he added.
Meanwhile, Diesel finished third after defeating Malaita Crusaders 24-22 in the third and fourth playoff.
MOI Warriors settled on the fifth spot following their 31-12 victory over SOSA.
