VISAS of students studying at Divine Word University (DWU) in Madang, Papua New Guinea have arrived through the system of PNG High Commission office in Honiara on Thursday.
This came after the institution is set to start its academic class Monday next week.
An officer in the PNG High Commission said, only four names are yet to appear on the system.
However, she said most of the students’ names that appeared on the system are not approved.
Under the normal process, it will take 15 days before the visas can be approved.
However, the officer said the students can negotiate with the High Commissioner to ask the Immigration department in Port Moresby to approve their visas because classes resume next week.
She said, it may likely to happen because all the students are continuing and have their names approved in the system in the past years.
Meanwhile, she said, visas of students studying at University of Technology and Goroka are expected to appear in the system anytime soon.
Most students of DWU have welcomed the news as they prepare to return back to their classes.
